The Springhill Suites in Elmhurst IL gave us a $20.00 rate refund after our complaint about the vent flap that was keeping time with the windstorm outside all night. Not too much sleep.
But, out the door and on the road by 8:15. The weather was 'sprinkly' for awhile and then turned into a beautiful sunny day. Great day for driving.

We stopped at a rest area in Wisconsin and had an alfresco lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches 'liberated' from the Springhill Suites breakfast bar.

We got to Jan and Dareld's house around 6 and had a marvelous dinner of chicken done in Dareld's new smoker and crispy parmesan potatoes.

Tomorrow is a explore Glenwood and the local area, then off toward Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.
